Heating
Mass Heating is used for
a wide variety of Applications. Here are a few:
Forging
Forging is the heating of a metal to a point slightly below the
melting point, but sufficiently high to be able to stamp / forge
the part into a near final form. Example include Crankshafts and
hand tools.
Rolling
In the production of steel the initial rolling passes are done with
the metal hot. This allows fairly large reductions from the starting
billet size. In today's continuous casters, the metal is feed directly
to the rolling mill from the caster and heating may not be required,
or only the edges may need to be heated.
